I can’t help but think that Apple has been listening to it’s customers. I can’t help but think that there may be just a few jail broken iPhones laying around Cupertino.
I’m sure by now everyone is aware of the iPhone OS 3.0 sneak peak that went on last Tuesday. I was on vacation with a very slow wifi connection and didn’t catch up until the hotel on the way home (even then, I couldn’t get all the keynote address in, so I was left reading articles instead of witnessing demos.) Once I finally got home and watched the keynote, my excitement level rose even further. It wasn’t for all the other hyped things, like cut-copy-paste, MMS, etc. I am excited about those things, but the one thing that will really make the iPhone my most incredible mobile tool is… (wait for it)… searchable email!
Oh, how I have missed thee my searchable email. Thine ability to jog my insufficient brain power as to what time or where that appointment was I just happened to forget to put in my calendar.
Needless to say, I was relieved and excited to find that 3.0 will carry this functionality. It was my major complaint with the 3G when I first got it and an even bigger complaint when 2.0 came out minus it! The most exciting thing to me was that Apple actually listened. I felt like I was the lone voice, because the only thing that anyone ever talked about was… (wait for it)… cut-copy-paste. OK, I can see how this functionality will be useful, but being able to search my entire exchange account from within mail…good stuff.
