We just recently switched MS Exchange providers and had an issue with our PCs running Outlook 2007.
After we would log into our new service, we kept getting prompts for the old service credentials. In other words Company A (our new provider) would prompt for log in at initial Outlook 2007 start-up and then within a few seconds a second log in prompt would appear and it was from Company B (our old provider) and even after canceling it wold continue to prompt… annoyingly so!
Since I am the default IT guy, I did all sorts of searching for this problem, and even called our new service provider to see if they had heard of this issue. They had not. So after doing some more searching one of my colleagues actually found the issue (Thanks, Joe). It is a little file called “redirect.xml” tucked away in a hidden folder (User/Application Data/Roaming or possibly User/Application Data or your could search it, but make sure to open the file in notepad and look for addresses that are in line with your old service provider). It had an automatic trigger looking for our old service.
There is an article here describing this issue.
I put this out incase there are any other frustrated default IT guys trying to figure this one out!
